IT Test Manager (PSS)

Job description
The
M’IT Test Manager - PSS’ is responsible for end to end testing of all
software components, business functions and interfaces of the PSS
systems. He/she is responsible for all testing phases and testing cycles
within those phases. He/she must ensure that the PSS system and all its
interfaces are thoroughly to ensure the system meets the functional
requirements, security requirements, performance requirements and load
requirements as defined in the relevant PSS project documentation.The
role is also responsible for relationship management with 3rd party
software vendors, ensuring that their solutions are validated correctly,
test cases are prepared in time, and testing done to quality and
accuracy.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Key Activities
1. Manage test strategy for the PSS project
2. Supervise creation of test plan and test cases for new software releases, pertaining to website, Booking Engine, Payment Gateways, webservices, thick client applications as well as Operational systems which form the end-to-end PSS system
3. Manage testing SLAs between the PSS project and internal departments, as well as between vendors and the PSS project
4. Supervise and report status of testing activities done by the PSS test team
5. Lead and achieve automation of various testing phases using automated tools
6. Maintain test metrics for each software release/patch and escalate inability to meet quality standards, with vendors
7. Coordinate between various business units to complete User Acceptance Testing on time, and with quality
8. Evolve standards and framework for various kinds of testing including Unit testing, Integration testing, Interface testing, User Acceptance testing and Regression testing.
9. Take up test results with vendors, and work with the relevant project managers to drive defects (new as well as reopened) to resolution within the agreed SLA
10. Mentor and lead a team of IT Test resources to perform efficient testing on various IT software/systems developed by vendor/internal teams.
11. Interact/Coordinate with QA teams of preferred development partners, and aid accelerated development and releases through timely test activity planning
12. Conduct performance appraisals for the testing team and help resources come up with Personal Development Plans that further their career growth and work on their strengths and weaknesses
13. Responsible for mentoring and guiding team members with the objective of improving productivity and ensuring personal/career growth for the team
14. Maintain efficient team structure and measure productivity through tools and processes, contributing to the profit margins through efficient work

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
Minimum Qualification
• Bachelor of Technology/Engineering (IT qualification)
• Active Practitioner of Testing Methodologies
• Well versed in various types of testing including but not limited to:
• Functional Testing
• Regression Testing
• Performance Testing
• Tools Based Testing
• Automation of Test cases
Experience
• 10+ years airline industry/IT experience
• 5+ years of hands-on test management experience
• Good knowledge of IATA standards for RES and DCS applications
Knowledge / Skills
• Exposure to and knowledge of multiple automated testing tools
