 Job description

AECOM is currently seeking a Electrical Engineer for a large mix use development project in Doha, Qatar. The incumbent will serve as site representative in charge of all matters related to construction quality assurance of electrical works such as MV/LV (medium level/ low voltage) and ELV (extra low voltage).
Duties & Responsibilities:  
  • Serve as the senior Site Representative for all matters related to construction quality assurance of electrical works.
  • Responsible for implementations and monitoring of all electrical related works at site as per approved drawings and methods and safety rules. 
  • Monitor the electrical works for conformance with the provisions of the Contract Documents and the Procedures manual. 
  • Review, approve and process all electrical technical submittals. 
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of all electrical activities and operations. 
  • Liaise with local authorities and ministerial agencies having jurisdiction over the project.
  • Receive/action Request for Information (RFI) that apply to electrical works. RFI's requiring design feedback will be directed to the Designer for response. Review the responses for adequacy. 
  • Review contractors' claims related to electrical works. Prepare recommendations for claims approval or rejection. Assist in negotiations with contractors regarding the value of claims or changes in schedules.
  • Witness testing and commissioning of the works. 
  • Approve the contractors' as-built drawings.
  • Assist with the final inspection of the work. Review the adequacy and accuracy of punch lists. Monitor final completion of the work.

Desired Skills and Experience

Candidates must have 7 - 12 years demonstrable experience in the design and all aspects of supervision and project administration of the electrical works related to large-scale projects within Middle East/ UAE in the consulting industry and must also hold a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering.
